The Sunday Edit #6

This week, I haven't really been up to much.  I have been getting my clothes ready and planning my work experience which starts tomorrow and I can't wait!

I had my art mock exam on Monday where I painted my face with makeup and I tried to make it look as fake as possible for our project 'self image'.

It's not the best but I am pleased with how it came out!

I have discovered my obsession with loom bands and I have been obsessively looming all week! I've made bracelets, rings, charms and all sorts! Here are a few:-

Today is going to be spent pre-writing next weeks posts as I will be working until 6:00 so I will have no time to write them and I will also be doing some more loom bands!

I hope you have all had a lovely week!

What's in my Handbag? - July 2014

My last 'What's in my Handbag?' was one of my most popular posts so I thought I would do an updated one seeing as you are all so nosey!
My bag is from Primark and it is the perfect size and is great for summer.  It has short straps and a long strap so you can carry it in the crook of your arm, on your shoulder or over your head.

The first thing I have is my purse which I got from a little bag shop in Minehead last Summer.  It is the perfect size and the floral print matches my room.

Next I have my Baylis and Harding Makeup Bag.  In here I keep powder, oil blotting sheets, a nail file, hand cream, hair bands, curvy grips and plasters.  It is the perfect size to keep all the essentials in and it looks really classy and sophisticated.

Next I have my iPod touch in a Cath Kidston Pouch.  I very rarely use it but it is good for if my phone battery is running low and I want to listen to some music if I'm out.  I also have my iPad Mini because I can write and publish posts from here if I have wi-fi and I can use it at other peoples houses without having to lug my macbook around with me.

I also have my Diary because I like to write things down if I make appointments so I can't forget! I always jot down ideas in the notes page on the bag if I get any blogpost inspiration while I'm out and about.

I also have my iPhone 4S because I could not live without my phone!  It goes everywhere with me and is such a handy thing to have.  I can do everything on here and it is soooo useful, I couldn't be without it.

I also have some sunglasses so I am prepared for the unexpected moment when the sun decides to show its face here in the UK!

Last but not least, I have the lip colour that I am wearing that day, today was Mac's Peach Blossom which is my favourite lipstick ever!

It wasn't that much different to last time, but I hope you enjoyed it nonetheless!

Primark Haul - Work Experience Clothes ❤

As soon as my spending ban was over, I went straight to Primark to get some new outfits for work experience next week which I am really looking forward to!

This is the dress I will be wearing on Monday.  It is really bright and summery and was only £13.00!  It's quite flowy and cool so it will be good if the weather is nice this week.  I will definitely be wearing this after work experience as well for going out and I can also use this for when I start work.

The next outfit is a little bit smarter and this is the one I will be wearing on Tuesday.  I thought I would wear something a little bit smarter on Tuesday because I have to go back to school after work for tutor evening.  The blue vest top was £4.00 and is made of a very thin material so I won't get too hot.  The kimono is my favourite part of this outfit.  It was £15.00 and I will definitely be wearing this after work experience has finished.  It makes the outfit look a lot more put together and smart and you could dress it up or down.  The skirt is just plain black and almost looks like it has been wrapped around.  It was £10 and I will be wearing this to school after work experience because it is the perfect length for me to get away with.

This next dress I am not sure if I will be wearing for work experience.  In the shop it seemed perfect, but now I have brought it home and tried it on properly, I can see that it is quite short and see through and is probably not office appropriate.  It is also made of a shiny material that clings to everything and is likely to make me sweat!  It was £10.00 and I think this would be better for wearing out.
I saw porcelainbeautyx wearing this dress and I fell in love with it!  It was £13.00 and I will definitely be wearing this after.  It is a really bright cobalt blue with huge daisies and a 60's collar, definitely my sort of thing!  It also looks really smart so is perfect for work.
The last dress is a flawy floral dress.  It was £10.00 and can be worn all year round.  It is very comfortable and the flawy material helps you to stay cool.  It has an elastic waist and I think it is quite flattering!

As soon as I saw these heels, I knew I had to have them! They were £10.00 which is an absolute bargain and they look really smart!  They are quite uncomfortable and difficult to walk in but I am sure I will get used to them!
I also picked ip a pair of flats for when my feet feel crippled and I can keep them in my bag in case of emergencies! They were £6.00 and go with all of my outfits!
I also picked up some jewellery because Primark jewellery is amazing! I got a silver chunky statement necklace which was £3.00 and some gold midi rings which were £1.50 for a pack of 4.
I obviously had to pick up some of their false nails because they are my absolute favourite! They are an absolute steal at £1.00 and they are amazing quality, a lot better than the likes of nailene which you pay around £7.00 for in boots.
Last but not least, I got a nude leather handbag.  It was £10.00 and is the perfect size for me to carry spare shoes, lunch, folders, books etc and it goes with all of my outfits!

That is it for my haul and if you would like to see some ootd's featuring some of these pieces, let me know!

The Sunday Edit #5

This week I haven't really done anything interesting.  I have mostly been preparing for my art mock exam tomorrow which is quite stressful and I'm still not entirely clear on what I'm doing!  I have been experimenting with drawing with makeup and that seems to be something that works really well which is a relief because I can only really use pencil and pastels because I find it quite difficult to show tone with paint, especially if I only have 5 hours to perfect it.

I did a practice piece with Marilyn Monroe and it came out really good so I am going to be doing this on my face and finding an inspirational quote about why you don't need makeup to feel beautiful.

My spending ban has finally come to an end so I am planning to do some shopping for work experience clothes and just some little treats!  I may do a haul as well so keep your eyes peeled!

Look out for some more summery themed posts coming over the next few weeks seeing as the weather is so nice and it is now officially summer!

I hope you have all had a lovely week and let me know if you got up to anything interesting!

The Five Product Face - The Drugstore Edit ❤

When travelling, you want to create a look that uses the least amount of products possible and for the cheapest amount in case you lose them, and seeing as everyone will be off on their summer holidays, I thought I would create a look that uses only 5 products and for a reasonable price.  It is also good for this days when you are in a rush or just want to wear something quick and simple.

Base and Lips
I chose the Bourjois CC Cream as a base because it is light, radiant and contains SPF so is perfect for the hot weather.  This corrects all imperfections so unless you have severe acne, you would be able to skip concealer.
I chose the MUA Blush Perfection Cream Blusher in the shade 'bittersweet'.  I chose this because it can be used as a blush and lip stain and is very versatile.  It also gives the cheeks a very glowy, summery look.
I chose my trusty Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder to set my base as it will control sweat, shine and oil.  It will ensure your base stays around for as long as possible.

For the eyes I went for something bronzy and summery.  I chose the Maybelline Color Tattoo in the shade 'on and on bronze' because they are easy to apply, last all day and look amazing!

To finish off the look, I added a lot of mascara! I chose the Rimmel Lash Accelerator because it is my current favourite mascara and  it looks very natural!

That is my very quick and easy 5 product face and let me know if you try this look out!

Spending Ban Update #3

Today marks the end of my spending ban which I am very glad about!  I haven't bought anything for 20 days and it is helped me to be better at saving and to be more sensible with my money instead of just blowing the lot on makeup all the time.

I have found it quite difficult because every time I go into a shop I generally just pick up a few things without really taking much notice but this has helped me to realise how those little purchases really do add up.

I am hopefully going to be doing some shopping this weekend so look out for a haul coming soon and  I may do a work experience haul or look book.

If any of you have recently done a spending ban, let me know and share your end of spending ban haul with me!

The Sunday Edit #4

This week the sun has finally decided to show it's face here in the UK and we have all been enjoying the hot weather!

I went to my school's presentation evening on Tuesday where I received an award for business studies and a £5 love to shop voucher!  I am having a huge shopping spree next weekend so I am planning to spend it then.

I also received confirmation of my work experience placement for an Insurance company for next week so I am really looking forward to spending the week in a work environment, away from school!

I have one week left of my spending ban and I gave you my second update on that on Friday.  I spent the day at home on Friday as I was ill, my appendix started grumbling again :( so I pre-wrote quite a few blogposts and have everything sorted for the next couple of weeks.  I have decided to post Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with the occasional Saturday Post.  This is easier for me with school and I will then be able to hopefully blog daily in the six weeks holiday.

This weekend is being spent at my caravan, enjoying the sunshine and planning my final piece for my Art Self Image project.  I am planning to do something makeup related, I think I am going to draw my face with makeup and find an inspirational quote as it will be unique and fun to try out some odd materials!  I may even do a blogpost about the whole project when its done!

I hope you have all had a lovely week and are enjoying the sun whilst it lasts!

My Top 5 Beauty Tools ❤

The finish and the look of your makeup is all down to the tools you use.  Here are my Top 5 that I just couldn't be without.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge // You have heard me rave about this countless amounts of time.  It blends in foundation, bb cream, cc cream, tinted moisturiser, concealer and any cream products so flawlessly, it makes my skin look like it is naturally flawless and slightly airbrushed.  I can't praise this thing enough and for the price, its a steal compared to the infamous beauty blender.

Real Techniques Blush Brush // This is perfect for any powder products, it is definitely a multi-use brush.  I have used this for everything, powder, blush, bronzer and it just works for everything! My powder brush completely fell apart so I have been using this for powder and bronzer and I would be lost without it.  Real Techniques brushes clean and last beautifully as well and are reasonably priced.

Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush // This brush is only available as part of the starter eyes set and not individually which is a bit of a pain but I love it nonetheless.  I never actually use this as a crease brush because I have tiny eyes and its just huge and gets eyeshadow everywhere but I use it to powder the concealer under my eyes.  This is the perfect size to ensure that I can pack enough powder on to set my under eye concealer properly and prevent creasing.  I absolutely love this brush and I think concealer and powder under the eyes is a much better use for it than as a crease brush.

Mac 187 Stipple Brush // When I first got this brush, I didn't use it and couldn't find a use for it.  When I saw someone using a stipple brush for foundation, I tried it and have been in love with it ever since.  Obviously when my Real Techniques sponge came along, it stole the top spot on the foundation application chart but since then I have been using it for cream and liquid blush.  It applies the perfect amount and blends it seamlessly to leave my cheeks with a very subtly, glowy flush and I use it every single day.

Eyeko Eyelash Curler // This is worth £12 and I got it for free in the April issue of InStyle magazine.  I never really got on with eyelash curlers before this and I always found they made my eyelashes look strange but not this one.  It curls my eyelashes evenly and really opens my eyes up and makes me look more awake.  It also helps to make them look longer and thicker and I never leave the house without curling them now!

That is my top 5 beauty tools, what are yours? Do you have any recommendations?

My Top 5 High End Products ❤

Over the past couple of months, I have accumulated quite a few high end products so I thought I would narrow it down to my top 5 that I think are definitely worth the splurge!

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette // I am head over heels in love with this palette!  You can create so many different looks and there is something to suit everyone.  I love the pink tones in it and it is perfect for Spring and Summer.  The quality of these shadows is unbelievable and I am definitely going to purchase the original Naked Palette soon!

Nars Laguna Bronzer // This is by far the best bronzer I have ever used.  It is the perfect shade for my pale skin and gives me a very sun kissed look.  I can have a light dusting of this for just a bronze glow and I can build it up to create a more sculpted/contoured look.  It has gold shimmer through it which gives a nice glow to the skin and doesn't make you look like a disco ball.  If you were going to splurge on a bronzer, I would recommend this one.

Benefit's Porefessional // I have raved about this multiple times.  This smooths out my skin, masks pores, leaves my skin feeling velvety soft and helps my makeup to last down my t-zone.  This is by far the best primer I have ever used and I am on my third mini size so I will definitely be purchasing the full size!

Mac Lipstick in Peach Blossom // Mac lipsticks in general are absolutely amazing and definitely worth the money, but as you probably know as I've mentioned it countless amounts of times, Peach Blossom is my absolute favourite lipstick of all time.  It is the perfect nude and looks amazing all year round and on any one.  The peachy tones ensure that it doesn't wash you out and it is quite sheer and glossy.  I definitely recommend this!

Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush in Cherub // Last but not least, this is my favourite blush of all time.  With a lot of experimenting, I found that it is really easy to apply if you use a stipple brush and gives a gorgeous pinky glow to the cheeks.  It has shimmer running through that doubles as a highlight so I find I don't have to highlight when I wear this.  It is a stain so it lasts all day and it also doubles as a lip stain!

That is my top 5 high end products, what are yours?

Summer Night Outfit Collab ❤

Summer Night Outfit

Summer Night Outfit by emily-rowles featuring lips makeup

This is another collab with Dalal from It's Raining Daisies.  We have both put together different night time outfits that are perfect for the summer!

I think something plain is perfect because it is easy to find jewellery, shoes and other accessories to pair with it.  I have gone with this Black Playsuit from Miss Selfridge as it is flowy so will keep you cool and looks classy and pretty.

I have paired this with some white chunky heels from Office as they are summery and are very fashionable at the moment.  They have a big platform so are easier to walk in and they give an edgier feel to the outfit.

To match the shoes,  I have found this white snakeskin clutch from Jane Norman so it ties in with the shoes.  It is the perfect size to carry the essentials without having to carry a huge bag.

I have decided to add a bit of colour into the look so it is more bright and summery and not completely monochrome.  I think a red lippy like this one from Nyx in the shade Juju and this red polish from Essie in the shade Hip-anema would be perfect.

Last but not least, I have added this chunky gold chain from Jane Norman to jazz up the dress a little bit so it's not completely plain.

What would be your perfect summer night outfit? Send me a picture and don't forget to check out Dalal's post!

Spending Ban Update #2

I originally planned on doing a 30 day spending ban, but I have work experience starting on 30th June and will have to buy things in preparation for that (clothes etc), so I have decided to cut it to 20 days instead.

I have not bought anything for nearly 2 weeks now and its been quite hard I have to say! I haven't been shopping too much because it would be torture, but I have been out a few times and was very tempted to give up but I didn't, I persevered.  Doing this has made me realise just how much I do buy and how hard it is not being able to spend money!  Every time I go out, I don't even take my purse now!

Not being able to buy and try new products has encouraged me to go through my stash and re try some things that have been slightly neglected and it gives me a chance to use what I have and make the most of it before I go and buy new products.  I have also re-discovered some old favourites that I have rekindled my love for.

I have managed to save up quite a bit of money so I will be able to buy some new summer clothes and some clothes for work experience as I have to dress in smart office ware.  I may even treat myself to some new makeup because there is a lot that I am desperate to try!

I will be back next Friday for my last update!

How I Spot Clean my Brushes ❤

Cleaning my brushes is not something I'm very good at and never have been.  They are lucky if they get washed even once a month which is awful but to be fair, how many beauty bloggers, you tubers and makeup lovers can honestly say that they clean every single one of their brushes regularly? Very few I should think! I have started getting better and tend to deep clean them fortnightly and just spot clean in between.

To spot clean, I use the Mac Brush Cleanser.  This is an absolute bargain, at just £10 for 235 ml / 7.9 US fl oz.  I put a small amount of this onto a cotton pad, swirl my brush around on it and voila! The brush comes out absolutely spotless, dries instantly and stays soft!

I love this because it cleanses your brush hairs so they will last longer and work better and also will prevent build up of germs and makeup which can cause break outs in between deep cleans.

It is also good for eyeshadow brushes as you can spot clean your brush after every use if you are going to be using lots of different colours and don't want them to mix.

I still recommend you deep clean them because this is not guaranteed to get everything off of your brush and there may still be some bacteria and makeup grime left on there, even if its not visible, but this will get rid of the worst part.  I recommend doing this every 2-3 days and deep cleaning once a fortnight to improve hygiene and makeup application!

I hope this helped all you brush cleaning loathers and let me know what you think of the Mac brush cleanser!

Exam Essentials / What's in my Pencil Case? ❤

Exam season is upon us and we all need to be prepared in order to do our best.  I have already done a post on how to manage your revision here so I thought I'd do a post on what you will need actually in the exam.
It's probably the same for everyone, but we have to have a clear pencil case. I got this pink one from Sainsburys for 50p which is an absolute bargain.

If you are doing Maths or Science you will need a calculator.  I think a scientific one is best as they tend to be more accurate and easier and quicker to use.  I buy mine directly from my school but I'm sure you could get them pretty much anywhere that sells stationary.

Again for Maths, a protractor, a compass and a ruler are handy to have because you never know what the examiner will throw at you.  Again you can get these pretty much anywhere but my protractor is from WHSmith's and my compass and ruler are from a Helix Geometry Set.

Most exam boards require you to write in black ink so be sure to have more than one pen in case it runs out in the middle of the exam because then you have a bit of a problem! I usually carry 2 or 3 to be sure that I won't be without one.

I also recommend taking another colour pen for if you need to annotate something.  I find this useful for History because I can annotate the sources and make notes without it getting confused with my answer.

I also take a highlighter so I can highlight key points and key words in the question to help me answer it and so I know exactly what they are asking me to do.

I take a pencil because it is better for drawings and diagrams because you can easily rectify mistakes. Also take a rubber in case of mistakes and a sharpener in case your pencil snaps because if your pencil snaps, again you have a problem!

Last but not least, I recommend taking a bottle of water in with you.  Those exam rooms are hot and you will probably get thirsty, but be sure to take the label off the bottle otherwise the invigilators will get their knickers in a twist!

I hope this helped all of you taking exams around this time and I wish you all luck, and try your best!

20 Blogpost Ideas ❤

I thought this would be a good post for new bloggers or anyone struggling with writers block.   These sorts of posts really helped me out when I first started blogging so I hope this will help you too!

1) Favourites - Every week or month, dedicate a post to all the products that you have been loving.  These are always quite popular posts because it is a good way of researching products.
2) Tags - These are a fun way for people to get to know more about you and what you like.  If you see a tag floating around the internet that you like the look of, do it!
3) Spending bans/ give something up - Give something up and write about your experience.  I am currently doing a Spending ban and I will do an update weekly.
4) Wishlists - Write about what you are currently lusting for and why.  I recently did an expensive one and I have done things like Drugstore and Sephore in the past.
5) Tutorials - This can be on absolutely anything. It can be makeup, cooking, DIY and Craft, all sorts! Get creative!
6) Top 5's - You can do this for absolutely anything, for example blushes, eyeshadow palettes, necklaces, shoes absolutely anything! This is also useful for packing because it helps you to be able to narrow it down to the essentials.
7) Hauls - Next time you go shopping, write about what you got, where you got it, how much it was and why you got it.  You can also do huge ones over long periods of time.
8) How to:- Again, this can be on absolutely anything. Hair styles, brush washing, winged liner, whatever you are good at and other people may struggle with.
9) Facts about you- Help your readers to get to know the person behind the blog. This helps to make your blog unique and personal to you.
10) FOTD/MOTD - If you are going somewhere nice or just having a lazy day, write about what is going on your face and what you think of the products.  You can write about so many different looks, 'no makeup' makeup to a glamorous full face!
11) OOTD - Again, if you are going somewhere nice or just having a lazy day, write about your outfit.  You can also write about how you style certain items of clothing and create look books.
12) Collections/Storage - write about a collection of an item, it can be absolutely anything and write about how you store them and why this is useful.  Write about why you collect this item and how it all started.
13) Reviews - Write a review on a product you have been using for a while, whether this be good or bad.  Discuss the pros and cons and state whether you like it or not and why.
14) First Impressions - Write about what you thought about a product on first use.  You can then do a full, in-depth review to see if your opinion has changed.
15) Routines - Whether this be hair, skincare, makeup, morning or night, everyone likes to see how someone else does something.  I personally enjoy these posts because I am nosey and like to see what everyone else does on a regular basis and how other people do things!
16) Spring/Summer/Autumn/Winter Essentials - As the seasons change, write about the products or items that you think are essential for that season.  I recently did a Spring Essentials post where I wrote about the makeup products that I always dig out in the Spring.
17) Day in the Life - If you are doing something interesting or are just having a pretty normal day, photograph it and write about it.  These sorts of posts are always good to look back on in the future so you know what you were doing on a particular day and what you enjoyed about it.
18) Tips and Tricks- Write about the little things you do that make something easier, for example, using a spoon makes winged eyeliner easier.
19) Collabs - Get in touch with other bloggers and come together to create a post.  I have recently done 2 with Dalal from itsrainingdaisies and they are really fun to do! It also helps to reach out to new readers.
20) Write about an experience- Write about your experience with something, e.g. surgery to help people in the same situation and give them some advice on how to get through it. Again, this can be about absolutely anything.

I hope this helped and let me know if you used any of these ideas, leave your links because I'd love to read them!

Wishlist Wednesday - The Expensive Edit ❤

As you can tell, I have expensive taste and there is so many pricey things that I am dying to Splurge on!

Expensive Wishlist

The first thing is the original Naked Palette from Urban Decay.  I have the Naked 3 and the Naked 2 doesn't really appeal to me too much but I am dying to get my hands on the Naked 1!  Urban Decay Shadows are of an amazing quality and I would love to try some more neutral, brownish every day shades.

The next is the Zoeva Rose Gold Luxury Brush Set.  Anything rose gold has my name written all over it and by what I've heard, these brushes are amazing quality and aren't too badly priced.

There are so many perfumes I want! I am desperate to own Chanel Coco Mademoiselle,  Christian Dior Miss DiorPaco Robanne Lady Million and Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy.  I am rubbish at describing scents so I'm not even going to attempt it, but they all smell amazing so next time you're in boots or debenhams, have a whiff!

I am also desperate to try the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation and the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer.  I absolutely love Nars and I have hear a lot about these 2 products so I am desperate to see what all the fuss is about.

I really want to try the Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel because I don't have any Chanel makeup and it seems so luxurious.  I have also been really into cream products recently and would love to try a cream bronzer.

I have heard so much about the YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipsticks and they have an amazing shade range so I would love to try them! The packaging is also stunning and would look very elegant and sophisticated on my dressing table.

Tangle Teezer has been on my wish list for so long now.  It seems the perfect answer to all my tangled and knotty hair problems and I think this would come in very handy when I am having a bad hair day, which is actually most days if I'm begin honest.......

The last makeup product is the Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation. I had heard Georgia Marie rave about this on YouTube and I thought it was about time I invested in a full coverage foundation that will last all day for if I am having a long day and am unable to touch up and for when my skin is particularly bad.

My most wanted handbag at the moment is the Michael Kors Selma Bag.  They are so sophisticated and classy and I NEED this in my life.

Last but not least is a Black Ted Baker Purse.  I have 3 Ted Baker bags and I thought it was about time I got the Purse to match! The purses are so pretty and are the perfect size to keep in your handbag.

What is on your expensive wish list?

Products I'm Re-trying #1

In these posts, I will be going through my obscene collection of beauty products and giving any products I didn't like at first or didn't give a proper chance to, another go at becoming a regularly used item.  This is the perfect way to try new products without having to spend anything so is perfect for my spending ban and will still enable me to write a favourites post at the end of this month.

The first product is the Jergens Ultra Healing Extra Dry Skin Body Moisturiser.  This brand is no longer available in the UK but you can find it on Amazon.  I have been getting really dry elbows recently and normal moisturisers just don't seem to be making the cut so I thought I would give this another go!

Another thing is an old favourite of mine, the Avon Care Royal Jelly Lip Treatment.  I used to absolutely love this until the Maybelline Baby Lips came to the UK and the stole my heart!  My lips have been very dry recently and I found this whilst sorting out my makeup so decided to put it back into my makeup bag.

My eyes have been very puffy recently due to hay fever so I decided to give my Garnier Under Eye Roller another go as it is very cooling and helps to calm my angry eye bags!

I have also decided to give the Moroccan Argan Oil Cleansing Wipes another go because I only used them once and they didn't really do anything for me so I thought I'd give them another go and see if I like them a bit better this time around.

The last is another old favourite.  I used to be absolutely obsessed with the Olay Refreshing Toner until I discovered the Lush Tea Tree Water.  I am running quite low on my Tea Tree Water and won't be able to repurchase until next month so I am only using it for skin emergencies and using this one for the rest of the time.

Have you made any re-discoveries lately?

Emily xx

Empties #2

I haven't done an empties post for so long and I have been collecting quite a bit!  I never really seem to run out of things, until recently and I always seem to be throwing things into my empties bag.

The first product is the Batiste Dry Shampoo.  This is the coloured one especially for medium and brunette hair so it isn't visible in your roots like regular dry shampoo.  I absolutely love this stuff and I like to refer to it as my 'second day hair saviour'.  One quick spritz of this and oily roots are a thing of the past and no one would know.  I will definitely repurchase this but might get the darker one as this one is slightly on the grey side.

The next is another micellar water.   I have mentioned the L'oreal Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution before and I have gone through yet another one! I absolutely love micellar waters and I use them every day.  I haven't repurchased this one as I got the garnier one which was cheaper and gave you double the amount of product.

The last skincare product is the Lush Cupcake Mask and I wrote a review on it here.  I liked it and I thought it was ok but I much prefer my Soap and Glory 'No Clogs Allowed' for controlling oil and clearing up my skin.  I may repurchase this in the future, but for the moment, I think I'll stick with Soap and Glory.

For makeup, I have gone through yet another Porefessional.  I absolutely love this product and have gone through 3 of the mini sizes so after my spending ban is over, I may have to consider caving in and splurging on the full size.  It fills in my pores and evens out my skin perfectly and helps to make my foundation last.

I have also finished 2 more holy grail products.  The Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation is my holy grail foundation and has been ever since I bought it way back in February.  It has been used pretty much every day until recently when I had an affair with my CC Cream and have neglected it slightly so it has lasted pretty well. I will definitely be repurchasing after my spending ban because even though I have loads of foundations, none of them will ever match up to this.  I also finished my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer which was repurchase instantly in 2 shades because I can't bear to be without it.  I bought another one in the shade 'fair', which is the lightest, for under my eyes and the shade 'cool medium' to mix with it for blemishes on other areas of my face.

I have also finished the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation which I am pretty glad about because if you read my 'Disappointing Products #1' post, you will know it just didn't float my boat.  I found that it didn't blend well, emphasised my pores and was light coverage which wasn't build able.  After one layer it started to look cakey and after about an hour, it started to break up and slide off my face, leaving it feeling like an oil-slick.

Last but not least, I have used up 2 mascaras.  The first is Maybelline the Rocket in the waterproof version.  This is the best drugstore version of They're Real I have found and I absolutely love it.  It lengthens really well, volumises and the plastic wand ensures that there are no clumps.  I also finished They're Real by Benefit and again, I absolutely love this.  It is the perfect mascara in my opinion and I will definitely be repurchasing these two at some point.

That is all my empties from the past couple months, what have you recently finished and what did you think of it? will you repurchase? Let me know!

The Sunday Edit #3

This week I have been back at school after a week off for half term.  For the past week, I feel my blog has been slightly neglected as I have had so much school work to do and the weather hasn't been great so taking pictures has proven difficult.

My nan went to Tenerife for the week and bought me a pair of white converse which I have been wanting for so long and I was so happy! Look out for a post on how to style them soon!

I have been rearranging my makeup and trying to rediscover some old favourites because I am currently doing a spending ban (look out for update #2 soon) so I won't be finding new favourites for my favourites post at the end of the month.  I may do a post on my every day makeup routine or what I keep in my plastic 'every day makeup' storage as shown in the picture.

On Saturday, me and my friends went to Za Za Bazaar which is like an all you can eat buffet with food from all around the world for my friend, Natasha's Birthday.  You pay one fixed price and you can eat continuously for 3 hours, it was amazing! I felt so sick afterwards though! I had 2 slices of pizza, chips, chicken nuggets, poppadums, tortilla chips, garlic bread, salad, sushi, 2 cupcakes, 5 jelly shots (yes 5), a miniature banoffee pie, a mini chocolate brownie, a mini cheesecake and a marshmallow stick that had been dipped in the chocolate fountain! I had one hell of a lot of food!

I am spending a weekend at home this weekend so I am planning to have a bit of a clear out in my room because it really bugs me when its messy, catch up on some homework and pre-write a few blogposts and hopefully be able to get one up every other day.

Lastly, Emily's Little World has reached 50 followers on Bloglovin'! I changed my blogs URL a couple of months ago and didn't do it properly and lost all of my followers and new posts weren't being updated so I had to start again from scratch! Hopefully I can get my 200 readers back soon!
Be sure to tell your friends!

I hope you have all had a lovely week and let me know what you've been up to!

Review | Collection Cream Puff Moisturising Lip Creams

I can't believe that no one ever talks about these.  The Collection Cream Puff Moisturising Lip Creams are my favourite lip products at the moment, I have been wearing them non stop!  I have the shades cotton candy, which is like a bubblegum pink and fairy cake, which is like an orangey red.  They are both perfect for every day bold lips throughout the summer.
Left to right: Cotton Candy and Fairy Cake

First off, they smell absolutely amazing, like buttercream and cake.  They taste really nice as well (not that I eat them but you know what I mean!).  They feel like velvet on the lips and are really moisturising and don't cling to dry flaky patches.  They dry quite quickly to a matte texture, similar to the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvets and all the other liquid to matte lipsticks out there at the moment.  The pigmentation is amazing and with one sweep, you have an amazing coverage and colour payoff.  They are really long wearing and I find I only really need to touch up once throughout the day as they fade.  They are extremely cheap as well, only £2.99 each so they are practically a steal.

The only problems I have is they have a limited colour range.  There are only 4 shades in this collection and these were the only two that I liked.  They also have a nude which washed me out really badly and a chocolate brown which just didn't really appeal to me.  They can be a little drying after a while and tend to leave my lips feeling a bit dry and chapped but its nothing that a bit of lip scrub and lip balm can't fix.  They also don't wear off evenly, they tend to leave a line round the outside of your lips and a bare patch in the middle so you will have to touch this up if you are going to be wearing them for long periods of time.  The last thing is that they are quite difficult to get off and require a good makeup remover because they stain your lips and sit in fine lines.

Overall, I love these and for £2.99, I am willing to overlook the very few bad points.  I definitely recommend them to anyone who wants bright lips that aren't too bright and would like to experiment with matte lip colours.

What is your opinion on these?

Tips for Blogging on a Budget ❤

Blogging is a hobby that can become quite costly, especially in the beauty industry when there is a new product out every two seconds and bloggers rush to be one of the first to review it!  If you are like me and are still at school and don't have regular income, or you just don't want to spend a lot of money on your blog, hopefully this post will help you!
  1. Review products that you already own - there is no need to go out and spend loads of money on new products when you already have some!  You can take any product that you have used enough to give your full opinion on and write a review about it!
  2. Enter giveaways - You stand as much chance as anyone else does at winning and then you have the chance of winning new products to try and review.  This is a good way of getting products and not having to spend a penny!
  3. Get free samples - I have recently discovered a new app called 'Sampleyes' where they put together the best free samples from so many different companies so you can try lots of new products for free.  When you are next at your favourite makeup counter or just browsing the internet, see how many samples you get.  This is another great way of getting products without having to spend anything.
  4. Wishlists - You can put together a wish list of products you are lusting for and write up a post describing the product and explaining why you want it.  These sorts of posts are quite popular because it seems us beauty bloggers are extremely nosey and love to know what everyone wants!
  5. Top 5's - You can make top 5's from products you already have and love.  This doesn't just have to be for makeup, you can do this for nail polish, skincare, haircare, fashion, all sorts! The list is endless.
Obviously there are so many more but these are the ones that help me the most and I hope they will help you out too!

Spending Ban Update #1

As most of you probably know from previous posts, I started a 30 day spending ban on the 1st June.  I did this because I have so much makeup and so many beauty products currently in use, I just wanted to use them up and enjoy them instead of rushing through them or only using half of them and wasting them because I have bought something new to try.  Also, we are now officially in Summer and the Summer holidays are fast approaching so I want to save some money so I can treat myself on holiday!

I will be doing weekly updates, letting you know how I am getting on and giving you a few tips for saving money. I may do a whole post about blogging on a budget as this is something I have had to do ever since I started blogging and a lot of bloggers struggle with this.  I may even do a list of 20-50 blog post ideas to help out newer bloggers or anyone struggling from writers block like me!

If there is anything you would like to see on my blog or know of anything to include in these posts, be sure to let me know via the comments or social media!

Let me know if you are currently doing a spending ban and how you are getting on!

The Sunday Edit #2

This week has been spent in sunny Brean for half term and doing a lot of shopping!
We have been to Clarks village, Weston-super-mare, Burnham-on-sea and we spent the day at Brean leisure park.

Me, my sister and my friend, Gracie
My sister, me and my mum!

I'm going to be doing a month long spending ban, starting from today because I don't need any more makeup or beauty items and I have so many that are currently in use, I am going to use them all up before I buy more!  I will probably do weekly or fortnightly updates on this.

Me and Dalal have decided to collaborate again with a more summery themed post so keep an eye out for that towards the middle of June.

This week, look out for a review of a moisturiser that has been on my Wishlist for ageeessss, some more 'on Wednesdays we wear pink' and maybe a tag or two!

I hope you have all had a lovely week, let me know if you got up to anything interesting or if there is anything you would like to see more of on my blog! Requests are most certainly welcome!
