March Favourites ❤

There haven't been many products that I have fell in love with this month, but there are a few new things and some rediscoveries.
The first non-beauty favourite is my Sekonda Partytime Rose Gold Watch.  I may have mentioned this in a previous haul but this thing is seriously stunning! I have worn this every single day this month and I have gotten so many compliments and it just looks good with everything!

My first beauty favourite is the Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner in the shad 005 nude. I put this on my waterline everyday and it brightens up my eyes and makes me look so much more awake and it's waterproof so it stays all day!

The next is a lipstick I have been wanting for so long and finally got my hands on it and it's of course, MAC Creme Cup.  I think the world and its mother have raved about this lipstick and I'm telling you, it's definitely worth the hype!! It is the perfect pinky- nude and I'm definitely going to get some good use out of this!

The last ones are sort of multi-purpose products. I have been using my highlight which is MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in the shade soft and gentle and my bronzer Nars Laguna as eyeshadow as well as highlight and contour.  I have been using Benefit's cream shadow in the shade RSVP from their World Famous Neutrals Kit as a base, soft and gentle all over the lid and laguna through the crease and it just looks stunning! It is also good for travelling because you don't have to pack as many eye products!

What have you been loving this month?

Updated Skincare Routine - March 2014

I haven't done a skincare routine in a while and a lot has changed as I have tried out new things, so I thought I would do another one as my 'How much is my face worth - skincare edition' was quite popular.

I take my makeup off with the L'oreal Skin Perfection 3-in-1 micellar solution.  I like this a lot but i am running out so I am hoping to get the garnier one soon so I can compare them.  I then cleanse with the L'oreal Skin Perfection cleansing and perfecting milk which I'm not too sure about, I think it is breaking me out and I don't feel it does a good enough job as my Ren Gentle Cleansing Milk did so I think I might have to repurchase.  Then if I use a face mask, I use the Lush Cupcake face mask and leave this on for around 10 minutes before I was it off.  Then for toner, I use the Lush tea tree toner water as I find this works the best for my skin type (oily).  Lastly, for moisturiser, I use The Body Shop vitamin E illuminating moisture cream which I really like because it makes my skin glow without making it look shiny or oily.

Haul!

I had the day off today so I spent it doing what I do best.......shopping!!

I was in desperate need of a new dry shampoo so I bought Batiste dry shampoo for medium and brunette hair as I was fed up with having big white marks in my hair after using regular dry shampoo.
I also got the Maybelline Great Lash waterproof mascara as I have heard a few people talking about it and I needed a new mascara.

I finally bought Mac's Cremesheen Lipstick in the shade Creme Cup which I have been wanting for so long and I finally splurged!! It's the perfect nude and is definitely a good lipstick for spring.
Then I went to Primark and bought a pair of light denim skinny jeans for £11, a black and white polka dot t-shirt for £3, a daisy print blouse for £5, a black chiffon top with a white collar for £8, a daisy necklace for £4, some pretty spotty and floral hair clips for £1.50 and last but not least, some of their amazing false nails for only £1!!

Lush Cupcake Face Mask Review

A lot of people have been asking me what my thoughts are on this face mask, so I waited until I had used it a few times and formed a proper opinion before I did this post.

The fact that it was made of chocolate and for oily teenage skin was what immediately made me toss it in my basket!

It really helps with controlling the oil on my t-zone and soothes my skin and makes my skin feel really soft and smooth.  It's quite a thick lumpy consistency so it's quite easy to put on, I usually use my fingers but you could use an old flat foundation brush that you don't mind ruining and paint it on.  After I take it off, my face goes bright red, but when it calms down, it looks very clear and my pores appear smaller.

The cons of this product is that it smells disgusting and every time I use it, it stinks out the bathroom for about an hour!  The other thing is that it doesn't last very long, the expiry date on mine is the 13th April and I bought it on the 21st March so it isn't going to last very long.  The other thing is that it is really messy and sometimes bits flake off when its drying so you end up getting brown bits everywhere.  It also stains everything as I found out when I stupidly wiped it off with a white flannel (donut) and leaves brown flaky bits in the sink.

All in all, I think this is a really good mask and I would recommend it for anyone with oily, acne-prone skin!  If you are sensitive to bad smells and mess, I would probably give it a miss!

You can find it here for £5.95

How I wash/store my makeup brushes!

The worst thing about being a beauty blogger is the chore of washing makeup brushes.  I try my best not to be lazy and wash them regularly so I thought I'd share with you some of my tips and tricks for when I wash my brushes and how I like to store them!

I store them in this floral pencil pot that I got in Bastins for around £1.99.  It's the perfect size to fit all of my brushes without them getting squashed or damaged and it looks really pretty on my dressing table!  If I'm travelling, I store them in this travel case that came with my Mac brushes and it's good for keeping them safe and secure when travelling.

For washing them, all I use is a bar of soap and water.  To spot clean, I just use a quick spritz of makeup remover or brush cleanser on a paper towel.
I hold the bar of soap in the palm of my hand and swirl the wet brush onto it until its soapy and then rinse it off.  I keep repeating this until the brush is completely clean.
When they are clean, I reshape them a bit with my hands and shake off any excess water.  I lie them down on the edge of something so they don't lose their shape when drying.  Don't stand them up because any water or soap left in the bristles will run down the brush and wear away the glue holding the hairs in place, causing them to fall out and eventually ruin your brush.  I normally wash them on a night time so I can let them thoroughly dry over night so they are ready for use the next morning.

I hope you found this helpful and if you have any questions or requests, be sure to leave a comment or tweet me!

My Week on Instagram #2

Being an Instagram-aholic, a lot goes on in a week and seeing as my week on Instagram #1 was so popular, I thought I'd make a little series of them!
We have finally had some decent weather here in the UK, so what better time to go outside and make some daisy chains!

As you can see, I'm a slight fan of lipstick and chocolate!

I was tagged by my friend to do a #nomakeupselfie for cancer awareness so here it is! I tag you all to do one and donate!
Hoping to do a review on these products from lush when I have tried them out properly and have a proper opinion, but so far so good!
I painted my nails with the Avon Glazewear polish in the shade Rave and it is the prettiest shimmery pink I have ever worn!

I've seen quite a few people doing this recently and I thought it would be interested to see just how much money goes into my every day face! I use a mixture of Drugstore and high end products so this might be very little to some people or one hell of a lot for others, so out comes the calculator!!
My every day products are:
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation - £9.99

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - £3.99
Nars Laguna Bronzer - £27.00

Maybelline Color Tattoo in the shade on and on bronze - £4.99
Maybelline expressions Kajal eyeliner in the shade noir - £2.99
Rimmel scandaleyes nude eyeliner pencil - £3.99
Benefit they're real mascara - £19.50
Clinique bottom lash mascara - £12.00

Altogether, that comes to the grand total of £117.12!! I didn't include brushes in this but if you want me to do one with brushes, let me know! I'm actually quite shocked, I didn't think it would be that much but there you go!

Lush Products I'm Trying Out/Mini Haul

I went out shopping and bought a few things. I went into Lush and found 2 products that I have heard so much about and wanted to try for myself and see what all the hype was about!

The first thing I got was the cupcake face mask.  I read a review on it some time last week and thought it sounded perfect for my skin! It is specially formulated for people with oily, acne prone skin so I though I'd give it a go.  So far I'm impressed, although it doesn't smell great and it only lasts for a few weeks so you have to use it regularly to use it up.  The other thing I got was the tea tree water toner.  I have been needing a new toner for a while and my friend had been raving about this so I picked up the smaller size for £3.75 so I could see if i liked it enough to buy the full size for around £7.50.  You can find both of these products here.

Last but not least, I got a macbook pro!! This means it will be easier for me to blog more frequently as my old laptop wouldn't let me publish posts so I had to try and do it through my iPhone which was very hard!

If you have any questions or requests or want to see a full review on any of the products mentioned, be sure to leave a comment or tweet me and follow me on Instagram!

Nars Laguna Bronzer- Worth the Splurge?

As mentioned in one of my previous posts, I finally splurged on the Nars bronzer in the shade Laguna.  I had a few people asking me what i though of it so I thought I'd do a quick review.

It's the perfect shade for me, as I am quite pale and some bronzers look quite orange on me.  It has a little bit of shimmer, but nothing to horrendous.  It gives a nice natural glow and can be used for a subtle bronze look or a sharp contour.  It's quite sheer, but definitely build able and very versatile.

I am on the hunt for a cheaper dupe, because there is bound to be something out there similar.  I have heard there is one from elf so I will have to try it out.

The packaging looks amazing and is quite sturdy and its handy for travelling, as it has a mirror in the lid.  The only problem I do have with this is that it gets really dirty, really easily and its very difficult to clean.  Be sure to have foundation free hands when you touch it!

Overall, i think this is definitely worth the splurge as its a great bronzer and looks great on every one. You also get a good amount for your money.

You can find it here or in Selfridges for £27.  If I can find any dupes, I will certainly let you know and maybe do a comparison!

If you know of any dupes or have any questions or requests, be sure to leave me a comment or tweet me and follow me on instagram!

MUA Matte Lipstick - First Impressions

I bought this lipstick on a bit of a whim yesterday in Superdrug as I had heard that it was similar to Mac's Russian red which I have been wanting for a while.
I got the shade Scarlet Siren which is a matte classic red.
It is a blue toned red that makes your teeth look really white and comparing swatches, is quite similar to mac's Russian red and the Revlon matte balm stain in the shade 'stand out'.

It is quite difficult to apply as it doesn't glide on easily because it is so dry.  I definitely recommend using a lip liner first so you have a slight guide when putting this on as I found it has to be applied perfectly or it looks strange.

This is a very dry lipstick and within 10 minutes of wearing it, my lips had shrivelled up and gone flaky and gross and it just didn't feel very nice.

It does look gorgeous on and it is the perfect shade for all skin types, I just don't think the formulation is quite up to scratch, but for a pound, what do you expect?!

Overall, this is a nice lipstick, just not the best.  It is a good bargain though, for £1 and is worth a try.  You can find this here and in most Superdrug stores.

Have any of you tried this lipstick? If so, what are your thoughts?

If you have any questions or requests, feel free to leave me a comment or tweet me!
